The Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation, Dedicated to Promoting Tolerance and Understanding
-
We fight Anti-Zionism, which is the new form of antisemitism, by debunking the lie of Israeli occupation, teaching the history of Israel and the Jewish people’s legal rights to the land, talking about the incoherent logic of the anti-Zionism narrative among many other topics.
-
We feature various professional, from academics to journalists who have expertise in their fields, to give dynamic and engaging talks to a variety of audiences, and we do so in partnership with Jewish and non-Jewish organizations.
-
We work to reach people of all demographics in order to get the message out to the wider international community. For example, a lecture by Melanie Phillips on the “Anti-Israel Bias in the Media” has reached over 142,000 people on YouTube.
-
We raise awareness of the many threats to the Jewish people in modern society from the 3 headed monster, the far-Left, far-Right and Radical Islam.
-
We are educating the next generation to take up the mantel of Zionism, to understand its true meaning and its message of hope, as well as the historical and legal rights of the Jewish people to the land of Israel.
-
We promote the Western values of free speech, debate, moral reasoning that help our country to remain free and democratic.
Though incorporated as a registered charitable organization in 2004, CAEF has a long history of serving the community under the name Speakers Action Group.

Facts with a Canadian connection
-
Demand that Canada as a free, democratic country support its ally, Israel, which is also a democratic country but under siege.
-
Demand the Government defend Israel’s right to protect itself from attacks that threaten the lives of civilians and defend it from lies spread by media and Jew haters.
-
Note that the increasing attacks and vilification of Israel is the latest most vile form of antisemitism which is also spreading across Canada and threatens our free and democratic country. Attacks against Jews are increasing in Britain and France and we fear this may threaten the lives of Jews here too.
-
Canada has always recognised the legality of Israel’s existence, yet the current attacks are intended to destroy the country under Islamist claims it is not a legitimate entity and that Jews don’t belong in the Middle East. Canada must denounce this ideology immediately and forcefully.
Facts about the Evictions of Illegal Residents in Jerusalem
-
Sheik Jarrah incorporates the former Jewish neighborhood of Shimon Hatzadik. For decades, the illegal Arab occupants, who gained access to these homes when the illegal occupying state of Jordan held the land and evicted all Jews from 1949-1967, have been asked repeatedly to pay rent to the legal owners of the properties they inhabit. Their disputes and claims have been heard in independent Israeli court.
-
Property disputes concerning these former Jewish homes of Shiekh Hatzadik have been in Israeli courts since 1972 and the final decision of the court was that these are the property of the Jewish owners and the court was to decide on next steps at a hearing originally scheduled for May 10th, then postponed to the end of this month. In some cases compensation has been offered to the Arab renters. They had an opportunity to pay rent to the legal owners or to move to a new residence with monetary aid.
-
Unlawful Jewish evictions in Shiekh Jarrah took place in the former Jewish neighborhood of Shimon Hatzadik when Jordan ethnically cleansed all of the Judea, Samaria and east Jerusalem, the Old City of Jews after several Arab states attacked Israel in 1949. An Ottoman census in 1905 had found 97 Jewish families living in the area in homes they owned. All were expelled once Jordan took control.
-
The newly designated Arab state of Jordan evicted Jews from their homes in the area surrounded the Tomb of Simeon. The Jews had lived there legally and peacefully having purchased the land in 1875 from the ruling Ottomans. After these evictions, Jordan subsequently leased the Jewish homes to Arabs.
-
In the past, Jews were not only expelled from Shimon Hatzadik but from all Arab Muslim countries in which they had shared life with Arabs for over 2000 years. Note the brutal, barbaric Farhud in Iraq in which Jews were murdered and harassed and after which most left that country.
-
Over 800,000 Jews from Muslim lands were deprived of their assets, made to leave penniless and even had their citizenship revoked, many were killed and all were exiled and yet never claimed refugee status.
-
The current Arab residents have had their cases heard in the courts, as they would have had in any democratic country with real estate and property laws. The former evicted Jews had no such offers nor did their cases command any international condemnation or intervention. But the two are not equivalent. Canada has laws that allow for eviction of non paying tenants and of illegal squatters. This is hardly the stuff of an international dispute yet the media, the pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel organizations along with Islamist radicals have managed to turn it into one.
-
Israeli courts hear cases from Jews, Muslims and Christians all the time. The Palestinian Arab courts jail Arabs for promoting peaceful negotiations with Jews and might even give a death penalty on an Arab who sells land to a Jew.

Facts about the Al Aqsa Mosque
-
The mosque sits on a site sacred to Muslims and Jews, the Temple Mount or Al Sharif. The Waqf is the religious trust that holds property deeds and sovereign management rights to the shrines of Islam.
-
“For centuries, the rights of Jews to pray at the Wailing Wall were alternately granted, impeded, or otherwise regulated by Ottoman authorities in accordance with the Jews’ dhimmi status as a subordinated people with a subordinated religion.” Quote from The Farhud by E. Black
-
Before Israel liberated Jerusalem including the Temple Mount where both Al Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock are located, it was administered by the Waqf and Israel reaffirmed and accepted this arrangement in 1994 with hope that this trust and respect would be returned with peace. The Jews maintained security of the site.
-
Under Ottoman rule the al-Aqsa mosque had come into disrepair. The Grand Mufti Husseini, launched a state-wide project to launch Islamic projects including the restoration of the al-Aqsa Mosque, a venture that brought him global Islamic prestige. With his subsequent power and financial backing he promoted the pan-Arab, anti-Jewish cause. His alliance with Nazi Germany allowed Nazi anti-Jewish propaganda and race ideology to flow freely into Muslim lands. He committed himself to a Jew-free “Judenrein” Palestine.
General and Historical Statements
-
Jews were expelled from Arab countries. The Arabs claimed refugee status, and continue to take donor funds many decades after the states of Israel, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq came into existence. The Jews never claimed refugee status- they became contributing citizens in Israel and countries around the world where they sought refuge and settled.
-
The Flag of pre-1949 Palestine was the Star of David.
-
Israel’s detractors in the international community and many media outlets both online, in print, on TV and on all social media seek to blame Israel for doing what any country would do when confronted with terrorism—defend itself.
-
Hamas and Islamic Militants, in both Gaza and Ramallah, choose to inflame tensions and create conflict whenever they feel it will benefit their popularity amongst the Palestinian population locally and Palestinian sympathisers internationally.
-
Hamas and the Islamic Militants have fired over 4000 rockets into Israel intending to kill innocent civilians, regardless of whether they are Jewish or Muslim, children or adults, military or not, and now they target major cities.
-
Israel has specifically targeted militant offices and jihadist leaders, warned the surrounding population of the need to vacate and followed through with pin pointing military targets.
-
Imagine the billions of dollars used to create these far-reaching rockets now being rained into Israel anywhere and everywhere possible while all the time demanding the donor countries fund their civil infrastructure now used for war against Israel. Billions of dollars donated to the Palestinian cause over the last 70 years could have furnished Palestinians today with their own peaceful state. Obviously, this is not their goal. Their goal is the destruction of Israel.
-
Palestine, a province of the former Ottoman Empire, became a British Mandate after the Ottomans lost WW1. The Paris Peace process honoured their commitment to the Arabs by creating Transjordan, more than half the size of the British Mandate.
-
Today’s Palestinians considered themselves Arabs before 1967, and the spokesperson for the Arab cause was the Mufti of Jerusalem. After the first Arab riots in 1920, Churchill wisely suggested giving over half of the British Mandate to the Arabs and this land became Transjordan which today is the independent Arab land called Jordan. The Mufti’s two sons both received countries. Faisal became the leader of Iraq and Abdullah the leader of Jordan.
-
Two countries did not prove enough for the Mufti. He continued his efforts for a Judenfrei (Jew-free) Pan-Arab world and negotiated with the Nazis to extend the Holocaust into Palestine where he planned to eradicate the Jewish presence.
-
Iraq meanwhile cleansed that country of its established Jewish community that had lived in Iraq for nearly 3000 years before the birth of Islam.
-
Arab Israelis have lived side by side with Jews in peace for most of the last 73 years but now are being stoked to attack their neighbors which threatens a civil war.
-
During the rocket attacks all Israelis lived in a war zone. Buses were been blown up in flames and food crops destroyed by rockets, several people were killed and several synagogues burned.
-
The Palestinian Authority leadership shows no respect or concern about rockets indiscriminately fired into civilian areas but is celebrating the death of Jews and urging more attacks. This is not a war of equivalency—this is terrorism on a huge scale driven by the PA and Hamas.
-
The Arabs who fled Israel in 1949 did so under instructions by the invading Arab armies. Those who stayed became Israeli Arabs and were welcomed into a fledging democratic country to enjoy equal rights under the law.
-
The Ottomans, who had supported Germany, lost the war and their Empire was carved into Muslim states and Mandates. The Arabs had already been delegated two recent countries, Iraq went to Feisal and Transjordan to Abdullah, the latter covering over half of the British Mandate, leaving a small portion for Israel. Eventually, that small portion was re-divided as the proposal for a two-state solution was initiated. The Jews accepted the first division and the second division, even though their promised land had been greatly reduced. The Arabs leaders, already holding two newly-developed states, refused to accept the division of the remaining segment of the Mandate. Sharing was not a word the Arabs understood, especially when it came to Jews who were dhimmis (not equal but protected people) in their lands.
Stopping the Violence
-
The violence can be stopped if sufficient international pressure is placed where it belongs, on Hamas and the Palestinian Authority.
-
Israel has for 70 years proven its goal is peace and has adhered to every possible attempt to solve this intermittent but ongoing war.
-
Only with international intervention and the ceasing of funding the demands of the terror regimes will the ongoing and ever repeating attacks end. Canada and the US provide funding via UNRWA which has been proven to fund incitement and terrorism in its educational system so this must end immediately. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency uses the texts and teachers’ manuals of the PA, which educates JK-12 in hatred.
-
UNRWA has failed to settle Arab refugees as it is not interested in doing so, but rather has kept these Arabs and their descendants in squalor for decades and insists they be allowed to return to Israel, or what they deem Palestine. No other refugee group receives as much money and has not goal of resettlement. UNRWA should be deemed a huge failure. Canada should call a meeting of the UN Refugee Working Group of which it chairs and address the issue.
-
The Palestinian leadership envisions a Jew-free state. The Jews always promoted a peaceful alliance between Arabs and Jews and have demonstrated it is possible with the new Abraham Accords. The Palestinian leadership wishes to undermine these Accords, has condemned the Arab countries for signing them and is fighting to get its cause back in front of the international community which became tired of its belligerence and demands.
-
The term “Palestinian” came into use by Arabs in 1967 after repeated attempts to annihilate Israel had failed. Their war tactics turned to propaganda against Israel as an organized campaign proceeded throughout the all the forms of communication.
-
See www.Memri.org Prior to 1948, there were Palestinian Jews and Palestinian Arabs. There was no distinct Palestinian people. There are 22 Arab Muslim states and only 1 Jewish state.
-
The Hamas and Fatah charters both call for the destruction of Israel and have continued to push Judenfrei goals. This remains the goal of the terrorist groups ruling Gaza and parts of Judea and Samaria.
Final Notes
-
Peace in our time depends on International support. Canada cannot be neutral any longer. Israel needs the support of other democracies.
-
There can be no peace until the Palestinians acknowledge the right of Israel to exist.
-
Being pro-Israel does not mean being anti-Palestinian.
-
Billions spent on rockets and warfare can be turned towards infrastructure, social and health services, and the needs of the Arab residents of the areas dominated today by these terror regimes.
-
Pressure is needed to be placed on Palestinian leaders and funding their causes must end.
-
Other Arab and Muslim states need to demand the Arabs end their siege.
-
Canada has to stand with Israel. Our own peace and democracy may depend on it.
-
This has to be the last ‘war’. Each outburst just escalates while the world has promised the Jews “Never Again.”
